Friday night at the movies

“I have Alzheimer’s, but Alzheimer’s doesn’t have me,” says Brian LaBlanc, international dementia advocate and guest here in Northern Colorado, November 8, 2019.  Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado® is hosting  its second Living Well with Dementia Community Symposium.   This year’s theme is Friday Night at the Movies. Come view Revolutionizing Dementia Care,  the new public television documentary that details how individuals with dementia are living full and meaningful lives.  A panel discussion will follow with people featured in the film, including Brian LaBlanc, and  Mark and Brenda Roberts, a couple walking the dementia journey together along with their dog, Sophie.  A few of own local experts striving to live well with the disability of dementia will join our guests on stage too.

The cost of the symposium has been underwritten by generous corporate sponsors and grants, so admission is free, but registration is required at DementiaFriendsNoCO.org. Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado® is all about helping people discover that there is still a lot of living to do even when dementia is part of the life journey.  Donations to sustain the work of this nonprofit organization will be accepted with registration and at the door.   If you are living with dementia, know someone living with dementia, or are simply interested in how you, personally, can better understand how in the world living well with dementia is possible,  this event is for you.    Expect better snacks than you’d get at home, laughter, and engaging conversation.

From 4-5pm, prior to the film, come to speak one on one with some community resource representatives prior to the film and presentation.
