Dementia-Friendly Leader®

The Dementia Together program is a collaborative effort of Dementia Together and participating nonmedical, medical,  long term care communities, and other organizations aimed at supporting those organizations seeking to provide excellent dementia care in Northern Colorado. Listing participating organizations on this website does not guarantee their level of care.  It simply provides an indication that the leaders and staff of those organizations have invested in extensive dementia education aimed at providing their clients and residents with competent, compassionate, person-centered care.   This service of Dementia Together is currently under revision and we invite you to speak directly to personnel from any agency or organization (listed or not listed on this website) about the specific training provided to staff who may be caring for you or a loved one living with dementia.

Dementia-Friendly Leaders®

Training for senior professionals in long term care senior living communities, home care agencies, hospice and palliative care organizations committed to investing in their staff so they are well-equipped to provide excellence in person-centered/relationship-based dementia care.

Why should your organization participate?

People living with dementia in Northern Colorado deserve the highest quality of care. Our community is increasingly aware of the many options for dementia care and the necessity to choose only the organizations committed to extensive staff education to ensure well-being for loved ones living with dementia.

Investment in training staff leads to improved job satisfaction and reduction in staff turnover  (based on a 2018 local study of one long term care community in Northern CO with an 86% turnover rate 6 months prior to having all of its staff participate in education offered by us.  The turnover rate 6 months after training had fallen to 24%.)   Because we believe dementia training cannot be a “one and done” approach, we are looking at how to format Dementia-Friendly Leader education so that it continues to translate into higher staff satisfaction, lower turnover, and improved client/resident well-being.   As of November, 2019, the program is currently under revision.   Stay tuned.

As a Dementia-Friendly Leader® in Northern Colorado, you receive:
